Last weekend my friend and I got to explore one of the best resorts in San Diego. Mission Bay Resort is known for its waterfront dining, luxurious spa treatments, endless outdoor activities, and lots more. San Diego Mission Bay Resort is nestled in the serene waterfront environment of Mission Bay. Its location is within easy access to downtown, Harbor Island, Old Town, and San Diego Zoo, to name a few of the exciting locations to visit if you choose to leave the resort. The resort also has various park and play packages to include a package for families traveling with kids to help plan a great itinerary while visiting, and for the professionals that choose to work by the bay.

I was very impressed with their newly implemented precautionary measures during COVID-19, to ensure guests and travelers have a safe and enjoyable experience.  There are three waterfront dining options. CovewoodPlaza Del Sol for dining and cocktails, and Solrisa, which is your poolside dining with authentic Mexican Food. My favorite food spot was Plaza Del Sol. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the waterfront dining area surrounded by palm trees was very calming.

The resort has sophisticated rooms that are airy with sunlight that welcomes you when you walk into the room.  Room service is at a whole other level at Mission Bay Resort. Dining in the privacy of your room while soaking up the bay breeze is an experience that will keep you coming back to the resort and if you haven’t visited, you will want to add this trip to your immediate travel plans. The weather is great year-round, and Winter is mild compared to other cities. The first-floor level rooms have fire pits, and front desk with give you a kit to light your fire.

Let’s talk about the lush poolside complete with lounge chairs, private cabanas and a poolside bar stocked with snacks and beverages. Guests can chill at the poolside and/or take a walk at the beach.  There are lots of beach activities including volleyball and badminton. The beach offers jet ski rentals, Kayaks, watercraft and water bike rentals. The waves are mainly calm on the beach during the summertime so bring your boogie boards for added fun. The resort does not provide beach chairs or towels if you decide to spend the day at the beach. We are experiencing a new normal during COVID-19, therefore, it is safer to bring your personal items since most hotels are not providing personal items currently.
