Liberty Station located in Point Loma, San Diego County is grounded in military traditions and a formal navy training center. After the end of the Cold War, the grounds transitioned into what we experience as today’s Liberty Station. It’s described as a portal to the past, an experience for the present, and a promise for the future. Today, it’s a center for commerce, history, and arts.
I love taking the hour and fifteen minutes’ drive to indulge in all the experiences Liberty Station has to offer. Some of my favorite places to visit are the various boutiques, and meeting friends at The Lot Restaurant. I love the ambience and the food at The Lot. My other favorite restaurant is Luna Grill.
Many years ago, I worked less than 5 miles from Liberty Station and we frequently visited the Stone Brewing for happy hour after work or to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. Stone Brewing offers a sprawling patio where one gets to enjoy menu items such as their spicy Thai curry jidori chicken flatbread, hand-braided Stone Bavarian Pretzel dipped into beer cheese, Yucatan pork tacos, and the spicy Electric Noodles. They have a large selection of craft beer and my favorite, margaritas.
The Nekter Juice Bar is where I pick up my to go treat or a 3pm treat when I worked close by. The elderberry smoothie, mango delight, or the turmeric sunrise are my favorite choices. There are lots more experiences for everyone such as, picnics, wedding venues, explore historic landmarks, watch the sunset, a walk by the bay, concerts, and the Art Districts.
There are many more exciting moments to create at Liberty. Check out the history and plan that trip for a memorable experience to a timeless destination.
Visit this historic landmark with lots of great restaurants, shops and other fun experiences.
